…in a Muslim world.

  1. Asia Bibi Says a Jail Warden Tried to Strangulate Her

Ms. Asia also said she cooks her own food in prison due to fears among authorities that she might be poisoned.

  2. Somalia: Misunderstanders of Islam publicly flog convert from Islam to Christianity

“Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him” (Bukhari 9.84.57). Somehow these Somali Muslims have misunderstood Islam in the same way Muhammad did. But they didn’t kill her, so apparently they’re moderates.

  3. Muslims Attacked

Roberta Bonazzi, EFD’s Italian-born executive director – a friend and colleague — bravely vowed not to be silenced. “We are united and will continue to support inspirational Muslim reformers across Europe,” she said. The speakers she had attempted to feature also kept a stiff upper lip. Irshad Manji, Canadian author of “The Trouble with Islam Today: A Muslim’s Call for Reform in Her Faith,” said that she and Dutch Parliamentarian Tofik Dibi had “refused to leave, even when police asked. We wouldn’t play on jihadi terms.” Dibi, of the Green-Left party (and of Moroccan descent), said “the disruption shows that even in the Netherlands it is necessary to continue the debate on reforming Islam.”

    Necessary, yes; safe, no.

  4. Kashmir: Christians fearing violence after Sharia court accuses pastors of proselytizing

Kashmir society will not tolerate such activities at all and we stand united against such elements,” Mufti Nasir said.

Not the peaceful, tolerant religion the islamists would have you to believe it to be.

  5. Muslim Hacks Daughter to Death for Dating a Christian

Nonetheless, the media drumbeat is constant: honor killings have nothing to do with Islam. And so they continue, as no one ever challenges Muslim authorities to do anything to stop them…The man struck his daughter 19 times with the axe: 12 times with the blade and seven with the blunt end.

The teenager not die instantly, but lay on the ground in agonising pain for several minutes until her life finally slipped away.

  6. Pakistan: Christian girls and women, some already married, abducted and forcibly converted to Islam

The marriages of captives are abrogated, by order of the Qur’an: “And all married women (are forbidden unto you) save those (captives) whom your right hands possess. It is a decree of Allah for you” (4:24).

  7. Muslims in Egypt Burn Down Homes of Christians

An eye-witness said that a straw hut belonging to a Copt was torched to clear the area for a mosque. There are more than 300 mosques in the village and one church.

  8. Kuwaiti royal prince declares conversion to Christianity: “if they kill me because of it, then I will appear before Jesus Christ”

Why would Abdullah al-Sabah think he might be murdered for exercising his freedom of conscience? After all, Muslim spokesmen such as Salam al-Marayati, M. Cherif Bassiouni, and Ali Eteraz (among many others) have assured us that Islam has no death penalty for apostasy.

Unfortunately, in doing so they fool credulous Westerners, but they disagree with Muhammad, the prophet of Islam, who said, “Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him” (Bukhari 9.84.57). And all the schools of Islamic law still teach that death is the proper penalty for apostates.

  9. Stop Islamization of Nations (SION) Calls on UN to Protect Christians of Syria

Stop Islamization of Nations (SION) notes with sorrow the one hundred dead in Syria in the recent and ongoing series of kidnappings and murders of Christians.

  10. Islamist insurgents kill over 178 in Nigeria’s Kano

Jonathan, a Christian from the south, travelled to Kano on Sunday, visiting hospitals to speak to victims.

“Our coming today is to express our condolence to the good people of Kano over the dastardly acts,” Jonathan said at the palace of the Emir, the city’s Muslim figurehead.

“Those causing havoc will never succeed … The federal government will not rest until the perpetrators are brought to book. We will not rest until these terrorist are wiped out,” said Jonathan, wearing a traditional northern Nigerian kaftan and hat.

    1. Boko Haram, a Hausa term meaning “Western education is sinful,” is loosely modeled on Afghanistan’s Taliban, but analysts say the anger it channels reflects a perception that the north has been marginalized from oil riches concentrated in the south.

The sect originally said it wanted sharia, Islamic law, to be applied more widely across Nigeria but its aims appear to have changed. Recent messages from its leaders have said it is attacking anyone who opposes it, at present mainly police, the government and Christian groups.

    1. A guilty prayer leader prowls the narrow, fetid streets of Ittanwali village in Nankana district.
At the forefront of a popular, polarising case, Qari Salam ostensibly regrets filing a blasphemy charge against an impoverished Christian woman, Aasia Bibi.

The source of his guilt – realisation that the case was not based on facts but on hyped religious emotions and personal bias of some village women.

  11. Nigeria: Muslims destroy Christian orphanage

Suspected Boko Haram members took their terrorism to Minna, Niger State as they set ablaze a Christian missionary home, Bethany Home, and destroyed property worth millions of naira.

    1. Nadia Bibi got away. One other captive bride also recently got away. But Saba and Anila Masih, Farah Hatim, and untold others are still in captivity (and not only in Pakistan), with many cases of abducted Christian and Hindu girls and women going unreported

  12. Dozens killed in attacks on Nigerian Christians

There is growing concern that the government’s inability to tackle the rising levels of sectarian violence, blamed on radical Islamic group Boko Haram, may result in hundreds of people fleeing their homes.

The group is now carrying out weekly attacks on churches and police stations in northern and central areas.

Islamic clerics who speak out against the violence have been assassinated.

    1. Mubi is in Adamawa state, just south of Borno, where Boko Haram was formed in 2002 to promote a form of Islam which makes it “haram”, or forbidden, for Muslims to take part in any political or social activity associated with western society, including non-Islamic education, voting in elections and wearing shirts and trousers.

  13. Iran: Apostate from Islam sentenced to 2 years in prison

Regardless of the official reasons for her imprisonment, this is about apostasy, and she will almost certainly be hounded for her entire time in prison to recant her conversion to Christianity, as has been the case with Youcef Nadarkhani. Also reminiscent of Nadarkhani’s case is the mountain of charges into which her apostasy has been translated: “collaboration with foreign-dependent groups, broad anti-Islamic propaganda, deceiving citizens by formation of what is called a house church, insulting sacred figures and action against national security.”

  14. Sudan bombs Bible school

The Heiban Bible College was built by Samaritan’s Purse, a North Carolina-based aid group. Samaritan’s Purse President Franklin Graham said the attack was carried out by the Sudanese Air Force.

“Please pray for the safety of believers, and that God would intervene,” Graham said.

Susan Rice, the U.S. ambassador to the U.N., said she was outraged by what she called a “heinous” bombing.

  15. The London-based campaign to hang a Pakistani Christian

There is evidence that the case against Bibi is being directed, funded and organised from London.

In Pakistan, Khatm-e-Nabuwwat activists allegedly threaten people involved in the case, in order to pursue their goals.

In Britain, Khatm-e-Nabuwwat provides legal and financial support for the case against Aasia Bibi – if the Express Tribune and La Stampa are to be believed.
