  1. The autopsy report shows traces of the drug THC, which is found in marijuana, in Martin’s blood and urine.

The autopsy also shows that Zimmerman shot Martin from a distance of between 1 inch and 18 inches away, bolstering Zimmerman’s claim that he shot Martin during a struggle that landed Zimmerman on his back, Martin straddling him and banging Zimmerman’s head on the ground.

Martin’s autopsy report also revealed that there was a quarter-inch by half-inch abrasion on the left fourth finger of Martin, another indication of a possible struggle. The teen, who lived in Miami, was in Sanford while serving a suspension for a bag of marijuana being discovered in his possession.

ABC News Exclusive: Zimmerman Medical Report Shows Broken Nose, Lacerations After Trayvon Martin Shooting

  3. Just a note-Police list Zimmerman as a white male-not a white hispanic or hispanic.

  4. List of on scene evidence collected (in the grassy courtyard area between buildings on or near sidewalk), owner not identified unless noted:
    *tan plastic bag
*white plastic bag (containing suspected blood evidence)
*Honda key and small silver flashlight keychain
*seized from Zimmerman: 9mm kel tek handgun, black holster, magazine with ammo. My speculation-Taken from Zimmerman on scene
    *First Aid kit
    *black flashlight
    *T mobile cell phone
*Arizona Tea can (laying on top of the medical blanket covering the victim-?)
*One cartridge case with head stamp “9mm Luger S&E”

Complete list of evidence seized from Zimmerman and Trayvon found here beginning on page 5:

    1. page 15 it says in the report that Zimmerman was being held at gun point by an officer. Zimmerman is described as a white male again in this report.

Recovered from Zimmerman’s waistband was the gun. So he fired the shot that killed Trayvon and then stuck the gun into his waistband?

    1. Notes:
Girlfriend said Trayvon put his hoodie on because of the rain in his second call with her. So, Trayvon did not have his hoodie on when GZ first saw him.

She called out to Trayvon but then heard the thump then call disconnected. She called back again and heard Trayvon saying, Get Off.

GZ’s dad says that it is “absolutely” his son that is shouting out for help. The incident had nothing to do with Neighborhood Watch. (I had wondered about this because GZ was going to the store-how can you watch if you are leaving the complex?) He speaks of what he has heard and seen of his son afterward pertaining to his injuries. He says his son was screaming for his life. IMO, that would seem odd since he was armed unless there was a struggle for the gun.

      Co-worker described Zimmerman as ‘bully’
One of the witnesses interviewed by Assistant State Attorney Bernie de la Rionda was a former coworker of Zimmerman’s, who said that he had issues with Zimmerman “on multiple occasions.” He described Zimmerman as a bully.

Co-worker describes a clique type work environment. GZ chose this worker as his target for bullying. He had complained and then filed a formal complaint. GZ made it hard for him to fit in and to work. Made jokes about his Middle Eastern accent. GZ was trying to make himself look good before others.

    1. MIAMI — The stack of evidence released last week in the second-degree murder case against George Zimmerman is notable, legal experts say, for what’s not in it: firm evidence that Zimmerman acted with malice when he shot 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.

  5. I like the point Crump made about not acting on our profiling of another person for what they look like.

  6. http://www.standard.net/stories/2012/05/22/4-witnesses-trayvon-martin-case-changed-their-stories

ORLANDO, Fla. — Evidence released last week in the second-degree-murder case against George Zimmerman shows four key witnesses made major changes in what they say they saw and heard the night he fatally shot 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Fla.

Three changed their stories in ways that may damage Zimmerman. A fourth abandoned her initial story, that she saw one person chasing another. Now, she says, she saw a single figure running.

They were re-interviewed in mid-March, after Sanford police handed the case off to State Attorney Norm Wolfinger. The case changed hands again when Florida Gov. Rick Scott passed it on to a special prosecutor. Zimmerman was arrested April 11 on a charge of second-degree murder.

Here are the key ways in which their stories changed…

  7. His home is in Miami Garden about 8 miles west of me here in Aventura. NE corner of Miami Dade County. I taught at the high school he attended for many years. Despite how this case revolves no crime watch in Miami Dade is allowed to carry a weapon or engage in any way with suspects. Miami city and county cops are very trigger happy and there must be over a dozen questionable shootings by police resulting in death of suspect. under investigation right now . Thanks visit my blog.

    1. No crimewatcher in Sanford is to have a weapon on him or her either and I don’t believe they are to do anything more than report suspicious people. I don’t believe GZ was racist in the least but he was very much of the mindset that he was not going to let this “a**hole get away.” Trayvon, it seems, backtracked to confront GZ. In the end, imo, GZ is culpable for his death even if its not in the legal sense.

I love your blog! I think I’m following it now and will try to get your site in my blogroll today. Thanks for bringing us smiles! This world sure can use all we can get.

    Zimmerman must surrender; bond revoked

SANFORD, Fla. — A judge has revoked the bond of the neighborhood watch volunteer charged with killing 17-year-old Trayvon Martin and ordered him returned to jail within 48 hours.

Circuit Judge Kenneth Lester said Friday that George Zimmerman misled the court about how much money he had available when his bond was set for $150,000 in April. Prosecutors claim Zimmerman had $135,000 available that had been raised by a website he set up.

Prosecutors also say he failed to surrender a second passport.

The defense says the finances are an innocent misunderstanding.

George Zimmerman’s attorney said he expects to file a motion Monday seeking a new bond hearing for his client who was booked into jail after a judge revoked his bond.

Neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman missed two opportunities to try to peacefully approach Trayvon Martin before he fatally shot the unarmed teenager, according to an investigator’s report released Tuesday.

    1. These are terrified young people and you are treating them as clever pariahs and devious criminals. You are supposed to assure their dignity and their safety. You have sought to do neither. Just the opposite. For shame.

It is as if you had graduated from the Al Sharpton School of Law.

      Whoa…

    1. FTA: Trayvon’s heart had kept pumping, both pathologists said, but with each contraction, blood was leaking or gushing into his chest, depending on the size of the bullet hole.

The two doctors agreed that Trayvon remained conscious for a time. Anderson suggested the teenager may have been conscious for several minutes. Manion estimated it at just 20 to 30 seconds.

“He certainly would have experienced pain,” Manion said.

The Miami Gardens teenager would have remained alive for a few minutes, both doctors agreed, as his wounded heart continued to pump.

One piece of evidence that Trayvon did not die instantly, both doctors said, was the color of his fingernails.

Shiping Bao, the associate medical examiner in Volusia County who performed the autopsy, wrote that Trayvon had “cyanotic nail beds.” That means they had turned blue, something that happens when there’s not enough oxygen in the blood.
