To trolls, this one is for you mrcantstopmebro,  who are falling for trial by media, you are not being allowed to comment...since you are too stupid to read reports, listen to police dispatch ect...John, no one said this man, Martin had to die. It is a tragety, for him and the parents who lost control of him. And for the lynching of Zimmerman by the radical left and NOI and NBP, the OLD FAILED MEDIA and folks like you who fall for the 'trial by media', not sure what this part of your comment meant "

There's alot of info here. Thanks so very much, Iggymom! <3 More info here: http://www.myfoxtampabay.com/dpp/news/state/links-background-on-trayvon-martin-case-03232012 This post will contain information from all sides. No, it makes no difference what the life of Trayvon Martin was at the time of his murder. What is the travesty on top of the tragedy is how the media reported this case and how race baiters got involved when the case wasn't even dropped. One month later and no arrest? Happens all of the time. The state prosecutors want to have as much information as they can to pursue charges or to bring before a grand jury. The information, as I now understand it, was on its way to the GJ even before the time of the bigoted clowns appearing on the scene to rile things up.

  1. Why is the media showing only an old, OLD photo of Martin? He was 6’3″ tall and a football player! This failed old media is trying to incite a race war and people are falling for it! What would Martin Luther King have said…learn the facts and act peacefully. Sharpton and Jackson are not MLK and would love to have a race war going to get their faces back on the front pages… WAKE UP PEOPLE!

  2. The Tragedy of Trayvon Martin

Good info in the comments line-some, like me, are seeing that there is more to the story.

The National Rally for Justice on behalf of Trayvon Martin

I attended the rally for Trayvon Martin last Thursday, March 22, in Sanford. I chose to go because I truly believe Trayvon Martin was murdered. I don’t believe George Zimmerman ever set out to kill anyone that day or any other time, but a teenager is dead and he alone is responsible.

The Stand Your Ground law does not give citizens the right to kill on a whim. You cannot be the aggressor and use the law as an excuse. In truth George Zimmerman stalked a child.

An interesting perspective even if you disagree. One thing I found out recently, the SYG law does not even apply to this case. It only applies when someone is on his own property.

  3. Is this really about justice now? Warning-language-

Eric Holder’s People: Shooter Of Trevon Martin “Wanted Dead Or Alive.” Sharpton, Jackson, Et Al Fan Flames Of Race Tension

What we do know is that Martin, a black teenager, was killed by George Zimmerman, who is Hispanic. Zimmerman called 911 and reported seeing a suspicious person in his neighborhood, where there had been a lot of burglaries. He’d been told by the police to stop following the person but did not listen to the 911 dispatcher. Another 911 call from another resident has a man crying help and then a gunshot going off.

Alot of links in the above post, too.

  4. OK, I really can’t stand this guy but I think he makes some valid points:

Obama is using the tragic shooting death of Trayvon Martin as a political diversion from his failed administration! Obama has even tried to put himself in the story by saying Trayvon looks like the son he never had, shameless exploitation at its most disgusting. Now we learn the police have had a report from the night of the shooting that points toward Martin on top of Zimmerman

  5. The New “Journalism”…Photoshop, Anyone?

This blog talks about something that, dare I say, the mainstream media doesn’t want to talk about. And that’s the reporting of this tragedy. Moreover, the doctoring of images to create a ‘journalistic’ story, if you will. One that I happen to believe is unnecessary, but one that the MSM did anyway.

Interesting that the press and medias think the lighter a man’s skin the more innocent he is…now that’s racism!

  6. Zimmerman was on the ground being punched when he shot Trayvon Martin

Last weekend in the city of Chicago alone, gangbangers slaughtered ten people and wounded another forty. The youngest fatality is only six years old. The youngest person wounded is only one-year-old. Many of the victim were pedestrians sprayed with bullets in drive by shootings. The national news has said nothing about this.

So why does one shooting in Florida warrant weeks of national news? Why has there been thousands of articles a day, for the last four days, about one single shooting?

  7. Going from link to link I found this comment:

I’m not sure how I actually ended up on this article…but I found it interesting. I want to shed a little light from an African American male perspective. The anger from African Americans is not as much about Trayvon Martin as it is about the reality that almost every black male in America has found themselves in the awkward situation of being looked at negatively simply because of their race. For some reason there is an assumption that all Black Males are just like the “gangsta rappers” on MTV or like “Leroy” who robbed the 7-Eleven last week. Despite my BBA in Accounting, MBA in Finance, 6 Figure Salary, Well-Groomed Appearance, Married with 2 small children, living in a gated suburban community…If I step out of my home in a hoodie…I could be (and have been) harassed by police, stereotyped and look down upon. As an African American male, we know that it just “goes with the territory”. So when I am on the elevator and a Caucasian female gets on by herself, I make it a point to be cordial and make a kind comment to ease the tension…because in some cases, she is naturally afraid. As a matter of fact, most African American males must live their lives depressing their masculinity in many cases in order to not appear too aggressive or too abrasive so as not to be seen as threatening. So, I agree that all the details may not be out in this case. But I can tell you that Trayvon Martin incidents happen in inner cities daily and not a sound is made…not a march conducted…not a Civil Rights leader stands up. But it has come to a point where people want to make a stand about what is right. I pray that the story is not as it has been portrayed in the media. I hope that this case is merely a coincidence. But, my experience and the experiences of other black males that I know…would lead me to believe that the case has merit. Now, I know that most reading this blog will not understand my point of view. I don’t blame you. Unless you have walked in the shoes of a Black man in America before…it would be tough for you to relate. So I understand. But lastly, I will say that this is the greatest country in the world. I am a US Army veteran who fought in the Persian Gulf War. I love the USA. Some of my very best friends and guarded confidants are not black. So, I want to be sure to say that this is not an attack on “white people”. This is a movement by a slice of America that has been consistently dealt a bad hand based on the actions of a few. Do we have some bad apples? HELL YEAH!! And I want the crime to stop just like you do. But, I also want to know that just because “SLIM” robbed your neighbor last week and SLIM was black, that when I walk in the neighborhood I’m not trailed by the Neighborhood Watch Captain simply because my skin color is the same as SLIM.

    1. My reply is to the last sentence: This is a gated community. A community that has suffered many break-ins and had need for a neighborhood watch group. Why shouldn’t someone be stopped, even if he is black, and be asked what he is doing out at night, especially if it appears he was “casing” the area? We don’t know what was in Zimmerman’s heart at the time. At first, I thought he was being a racist when he said, “They always get away.” I still am having a hard time getting past the idea that he meant blacks by the word “they.” It may be he meant “theives” getting away while waiting for the police.

What we do know is the hearts of the New Black Panthers, Spike Lee, Jackson, Sharpton and the like. Pure bigotry and for some among this ilk, anti-semitism. Wow. The Jewish community did whatever they could during the civil rights era to right a wrong in America and now they are treated with bigotry by the very group they empathized and sympathized with. If anyone thinks that the Al Sharptons and Jesse Jacksons of the USA do these speeches and rallies out of the goodness of their hearts, think again. They have no problems asking for $3,000 or more, plus room and board at the nicest of hotels, just to get their faces in the papers and mugs on the national news-the media whores. Of this, I personally know. They exploit the hurting families of the slain for their personal gain. Why aren’t they out there for the other incidents of perceived racism? Because the victim’s families can’t afford them.

      1. Oh, yeah, the Crown Heights Pogrom~

The REAL Al Sharpton: Incitement of the 1991 Crown Heights Pogrom

Al Sharpton is a user. He exploits tragedy to get headlines for himself. It’s what he is doing in the Trayvon Martin Case–it’s what he has done his entire career. Though this story has been told before, I thought it appropriate to reexamine some the exploitative handiwork of this Reverend who has long forgotten the golden rule, a purveyor of hatred who is given a place of honor as a civil rights leader by the mainstream media and by the President of the United States.

Twenty-one years ago a tragic car accident in Crown Heights Brooklyn escalated into a pogrom against the Jewish people, thanks in part to this faux-preacher.

        1. The media portrayed the Crown Heights riot as two-sided promoting the myth that both blacks and Jews were equal in their violence. The violence was a one-sided rampage waged by some of the neighborhood’s 180,000 strong black majority against a Jewish minority of 20,000.

  8. Violent Death in America is an Equal Opportunity Crime

I lived in the South when Jim Crow laws were on the books and public facilities were segregated. I was a young reporter during the Civil Rights era of the 1960s and even met Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on one occasion. I have seen the best and worst of what race represents in America.

I would count the initial reporting on the killing of Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Florida, as among the worst media coverage in a while because, as the facts begin to emerge after a month, it turns out that there was an eye witness to the incident in which George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch volunteer, suffered a broken nose and injuries to the back of his head consistent with an attack.

Last report, Zimmerman’s nose wasn’t broken, just bloodied.

  9. Trayvon Martin Investigator Wanted Manslaughter Charge

This should have had a Grand Jury decision.
Police brought Zimmerman into the station for questioning for a few hours on the night of the shooting, said Zimmerman’s attorney, despite his request for medical attention first. Ultimately they had to accept Zimmerman’s claim of self defense. He was never charged with a crime.

Serino filed an affidavit on Feb. 26, the night that Martin was shot and killed by Zimmerman, that stated he was unconvinced Zimmerman’s version of events.

  10. Trayvon Martin threatened to kill George Zimmerman, Zimmerman’s father says

Robert Zimmerman says George Zimmerman was going to the store when he saw someone he did not recognize as living in the community.

“Because there have been a lot of break-ins in the area, he thought that was suspicious that someone would not be walking on the street or the sidewalk. That he’d be walking by the town homes,” Zimmerman said.

    1. Boey asked Zimmerman about the girlfriend of Trayvon Martin who said she was on the phone with him when he said he was being followed, and that Zimmerman attacked Martin.

“I don’t believe that happened. I don’t believe she was on the phone with him and I find it very strange with the publicity involved that all of a sudden after three weeks someone would remember that they were on the phone. I believe the FBI and others investigating this will find that did not happen,” Zimmerman said.

  11. Elderly Couple in Fear Over Spike Lee’s Tweet

MARCH 27–With Twitter and Facebook continuing to explode with posts purporting to contain the address of George Zimmerman, property records and interviews reveal that the home is actually the longtime residence of a married Florida couple, both in their 70s, who have no connection to the man who killed Trayvon Martin and are now living in fear due to erroneous reports about their connection to the shooter.

The mass dissemination of the address on Edgewater Circle in Sanford–the Florida city where Martin was shot to death last month–took flight last Friday when director Spike Lee retweeted a tweet containing Zimmerman’s purported address to his 240,000 followers.

    1. Spike Lee settles for retweeting wrong address

“At this point in time, we have come to an agreement with Spike Lee and his attorneys, and at this point, the matter is fully resolved,” Morgan said. “Spike has agreed to compensate the McClains for their loss and for the disruption into their lives. He’s taken full responsibility.”

  12. All a product of Obama, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton’s race-baiting, they are calling for a race war….

Warning-foul language in the hate-filled recruiting video. Bunch of ignorant rantings by those who don’t care about the truth just the desire to fulfill their evil heart’s bloodlust.

  13. Everything We Learned About Trayvon Martin…

…we learned from the press. That wouldn’t necessarily be bad except that most of the editorial press is severely biased. It’s almost as if they WANT to create race wars and riots. Whether they are intending to do so or not, they are doing just that.

In response to what many see as the absence of justice in the Trayvon Martin case, groups of young thugs are participating in “flash mobs” and “flash robs.” I’m not sure how this is supposed to show support for Martin – by acting like a criminal – but in the twisted minds of too many young people, this is exactly what it does…

  14. Unbelievable! Democrat Congresswoman: Arrest Zimmerman ‘For His Own Safety’

Instead of arresting the vigilanties like the NBP and NOI spokespersons, Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson for inciting violence, they want to jail an ‘innocent until proven guilty’ American citizen!

  15. http://a12iggymom.wordpress.com/2012/03/28/trayvon-doesnt-matt-er-to-the-left/

Let’s begin with the media. The initial narrative they seized upon was one of George Zimmerman, a “white Hispanic,” targeting Martin for wearing a hoodie, tracking him down, beginning a fight with him, and murdering him. Afterward, the narrative goes, Martin was not arrested by the police because either the police were racist, or they completely misconstrued Florida’s “stand your ground” law.

To make this narrative work, the media had to paint Martin as a saint, and George Zimmerman as a devil.

  16. Jesse: Trayvon Proves ‘Blacks Are Under Attack’

“Blacks are under attack,” said the Rev. Jesse Jackson, irresponsibly turning the Florida shooting death of an unarmed black teenager, Trayvon Martin, at the hands of Hispanic neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman into a barometer of black-white “race-relations.”

President Barack Obama, three years past his inauguration as American’s first black president, weighed in, too. As when he accused the Cambridge police of “acting stupidly,” Obama injected race, but this time a little less directly: “If I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon.”

The implication, of course, is that race undoubtedly played a role in the death of Trayvon Martin. A special prosecutor as well as a Florida grand jury will examine the case, re-interview all the witnesses and go over all the evidence. Zimmerman may well be charged with murder, and a racially motivated one at that. Or the prosecutor may find the evidence insufficient to convince a jury that Zimmerman did not act in self-defense.

  18. At the 2:22 mark Zimmerman is either saying F*-in’ coons or F*-in’ punks. What say you?

  19. This witness says that Zimmerman said he was the one crying out for help and that she said she saw blood on the back of Zimmerman’s head.(at the 1:30 mark).

Also, in Orlando Sentinel’s article they report that the voice expert from Easy Voice Biometrics determined the cries for help are from Trayvon, not Zimmerman.

  20. Spike Lee’s Vigilante Trayvon Tweet

What if Spike got the right Zimmerman and his cabal charged in and beat and/or killed a man who had yet to be given due process under the law? Hmmm? Question: Would Lee be legally liable if one of his vigilantes said they got their 411 and motivation for mayhem from his tweet?

    1. I know that if a Caucasian man named Whitey Whitebread put out a fatwa like Lee did that Whitey would be charged with a hate crime, making terrorist threats, inciting mob violence, endangering the well-being of an innocent person and cyberbullying. Isn’t Hollywood coming out with a movie about bullying? Maybe they should show how they’re truly against it by boycotting Spike ‘til Jesus returns.

  21. Trayvon Martin’s Death: A Timeline Of Tragedy

“There is a general understanding from society that the law will work when it is supposed to and, when the facts support one understanding of a crime, that the law will do what it is supposed to do to make sure everyone is vindicated in the way they should be,” said Donald F. Tibbs, associate professor of law at Drexel University’s Earle Mack School of Law. Tibbs, who focuses on the intersection of race, law, civil rights and criminal procedure, told MTV News that one reason the case has created such an uncomfortable feeling for some is that the facts so far seem to suggest that Zimmerman shot an unarmed teen for no apparent reason and that “most people’s sense is that once you kill someone, you’re arrested by the police … [but in this case] he shot and killed someone and the police let him go. Not because of anything we know based on objective evidence, they let him go on his word that he acted in self-defense.” Witnesses have emerged who claim that Martin attacked Zimmerman on the night of the shooting, which police officials have said bolsters their decision not to arrest the shooter. However, others who claim to have seen the alleged scuffle have said Zimmerman appeared unhurt afterward and that they did not see Martin act in an aggressive manner.

  22. Zimmerman family member calls NAACP ‘racists,’ says ‘there will be blood on your hands’ if George is hurt

In a letter obtained exclusively by The Daily Caller on Monday, a family member of George Zimmerman ripped Seminole County, Fla. NAACP president Turner Clayton for a rush to judgment in the Trayvon Martin case.

“It’s time for you to end the race issue in this matter and call for cooler heads to prevail,” the letter reads. “If something happens to George as a result of the race furor stirred up by this mischaracterization of George there will be blood on your hands as well as the rest of the racists that have rushed to judgment. You need to call off the dogs. Period. Publicly and swiftly.”

George’s father reminds the NAACP who did alot of grunt work for the justice of a black homeless man who was beaten by the son of a police officer.
