National Popular Vote: Goodbye, Sweet America.

Reblogged from Publius-Huldah's Blog:

Our Constitution is under constant attack.1   One of the most pernicious attacks is being waged by those who seek to override the constitutional provisions under which The States, as political entities, elect the President; and to replace it with a national popular vote (NPV) under which inhabitants of major metropolitan areas will choose the President.

What Form of Government Did We Create In Our Constitution?

The NPV is not about “making every vote count”. The NPV is about guaranteeing that every future presidential election is won by a Democrat. Wow. :???:

Kony 2012

This is one of two things I give kudos to Obama for because he took the right action. I first heard of this evil man back in the mid-’90s when I was on my church’s missions board. I thought that little street urchins in Mexico being shot to death like they do to stray dogs was bad, and it is, but this monster takes the prize for what he does to children. I remember in October when Rush Limbaugh and a few others thought that Obama was going after Christians in Uganda because Kony’s army is named the Lord’s Resistance Army. I cannot call it a group of thugs because many in this army today were the children being abducted back in the mid-90s. I wish success to this campaign and the arrest of Kony in 2012. Yesterday would not be soon enough.

Who is Joseph Kony?

UPDATE: I said this was one of the things that I give Obama kudos for for doing the right thing but that was because I thought that help was being sought by Uganda to the U.S. for help in capturing this evil creep. That’s not the case. Read here. I’m not so sure about the goodness of Obama’s heart in this now.

In the case of Kony, Obama seems to be taking his cue from the ICC. Its prosecutor, Luis Moreno Ocampo, appears in the “Kony 2012” video, noting that Kony was the first person ever indicted by the court. The video also celebrates Obama’s decision to use U.S. troops to try to apprehend Kony. It does not take a big exercise in connecting the dots to arrive at the conclusion that Obama is using U.S. troops to carry out the orders of the ICC. But rather than seek ratification of the ICC and then obtain the approval of Congress to apprehend Kony, and perhaps even to kill him, Obama simply issues orders to U.S. troops and bypasses the Congress.
